Feel like you could be healthier but don't know where to start? Feeling anxious and stressed out all the time? Suffering from past traumas that you can't seem to escape from? Feel tired all the time and can't focus? Are you suffering from anxiety or ADHD and want to avoid medication? Looking for an integrative approach to treating your concerns?
We got you.
Psycholofit is about creating movement in the mind, body and spirit in order to heal, find passion and become the you that you want to be. GET UNSTUCK.
We want to know what matters to you most and why you want to be healthier. Every new client begins with an in-depth initial interview to discuss where you are and where you want to go. We'll look at what may be contributing to your challenges while taking into consideration your lifestyle, activities, diet, recent stressful events, and beliefs. From there, we'll guide you in adding tools to your toolbox to make realistic changes in a manner that fits your goals. We focus on what you want your health for rather than what is wrong with you.
We believe that a big component in healing is the belief in your own innate ability for health and a desire (or reason) to change coupled with supportive and appropriate recommendations. However, often times we’re given recommendations or prescriptions that are out of our means or desire, making the change we truly want that much harder. Treatment can include herbal therapies, nutritional support, movement and physical therapies, mindfulness, relaxation strategies and psychotherapy. As you experiment with what works best for you, you will feel empowered and excited to work towards sustainable change. What we focus on:
Shifting your life narrative and your thoughts
Adding in nourishing foods/supplements to your routine
Increasing your energy
Improving mood and decreasing anxiety
Regenerating with quality sleep
Releasing physical and emotional toxins
Re-discovering your true purpose and passion
Metabolizing stress
Stabilizing blood sugar
Increasing digestion
Cultivating a resilience mindset
Creating more self-care
Modifying lifestyle to support change
Enjoying food again
And much more
FAQ:
Where do the sessions take place?
These sessions can take place remotely or in-person in the Houston, Texas area. Some people choose to meet at a park or a neighborhood, while others prefer to have sessions over the phone or video. Update: Due to COVID-19, all sessions will be remote.
Is this a cardio workout or personal training?
Great question! No, this is not personal training or a fitness class. The focus is on creating movement (whether physical or not) in your mind, body, and spirit to create a lifestyle that brings about more health, happiness, and abundance. These conversations are related to the areas in your life that might make you feel stuck and immobile.
What does it look like to discuss the mind, body and soul? Is this religious or anything?
It's definitely not too woo-woo don't worry. We talk about such things as nutrition, sleep, relationships, self-care, work and family dynamics, meditation, and thought patterns. We then work on creating movement in those areas in order to reach your goals.
What sort of movement occurs in the mind and spirit?
I love this question. Movement in our mind, body, and spirit is happening all the time. Sometimes this movement is protective and sometimes it's harmful. Our sessions focus on cultivating more protective and healthy movement, which is often unique to you. This might include talking about creating more healthy eating habits, practicing a mindfulness technique together, doing some brief stretching, recognizing thought patterns, or even making plan of action getting you on the right track.
What sort of clients do you typically see?
I see all sort of clients, but typically my clients are suffering from some mental health condition, whether that be anxiety, stress, or depression, that's also contributing to physical symptoms (or vice versa). They don't want to take medication and are looking for alternate routes to treatment.
